I've owned the iPad version for a long time, and this is just as good. I'm more then happy to keep giving these devs my money, just so long as they keep working on it. I'd probably get any DLCs, even cosmetic ones or a soundtrack.. This port truly does the IOS originals proud. ive clocked over 400 hours into the IOS version of Junk Jack (formerly known as Junk Jack X), and over 300 in Junk Jack Retro (formerly known as Junk Jack). And i have to fully reccomend this game to anyone who likes chilling and exploring; its not a heavy RPG with building and crafting elements like Terraria, yet it takes some themes from it; like the loot, armor and vanty system. Its not a relaxed exploritory game like Minecraft, yet takes what minecraft did great about curiosity and compacts it into a simple system, much more user friendly than terraria in my opinion. And sure, it no where near the in-depth inter-planetary exploration like the beutiful starbound, yet takes the planet system from that and tweaks it to also be more adventurous and user friendly, and adopts some of the light humor and funky NPC's and art from it. By absolutley no means is Junk Jack a copy of either of these games, and by no means is it better than any of these games in their core elements; however it is a perfect balance of relaxed exploring, finding little treasures (hundreds of them, possibly even up to a thousand) to share, trade or show off with friends, building a humble abode; or a complex mob trap to find that super rare enemy drop, farming to gain ingredients to cook the vast varieties of food, or rig up some electronics and get creative. The distinguishing moments of Junk Jack are found in its amazingly fun, quirky side activities; as aforementioned, it does not sell out on one particular stong point at all; yet it brings all of the things to love about starbound, terraria, minecraft and more, while adapting them to suit the art style and small details that are really what makes (for me and many other people) Junk Jack a phenominally fun game. All made by some of the most hard working and devoted developers ive seen in years; releasing new content regularly to keep the game frest and exiting. Pick it up, for the price; i dont think anyone can argue with the level of enjoyment one can have from this game.. Junk Jack is a lot of fun. There is an insane amount of blocks, collectables, recipes and farmable plants. The combat system is pretty simple, but there are tons of biomes to discover, chests to loot, potions to brew, and blocks to build with. The mechanics system lacks actuators (it only has a few types of input and output), but is really fun to use and can be used to create complex logic systems. Multiplayer is a little buggy (it currently crashes when anything is thrown), but the developers are working on it, releasing a new update for every week or two. Even as is the game has a lot of depth and shows a lot of promise.. heres what i think of the game. The game has some bugs but other than that the game is preety fun to play with friends or without friends. ive played all the junk jack versions and all of them are good.. The devs are fast to move and got a fix for a rocky launch out quickly. Looking good so far! It's definitelt a bit of a "Terraria lite" but not at all bad. Might be a little over-priced though.. I used to play this on my ipod touch, now that i am 17 years old, i enjoy it on the computer i have a blast playing this game! :)(Don't mind the hours i put into it, I am busy with fallout 4). I've previously bought Junk Jack when it was first on the Appstores, and Junk Jack X. Was waiting for this to happen! Love the game, and hopefully the developers put more effort onto the PC version. Thank you!--Edit--Its been months since and nothing really has changed, a couple bug fixes and thats it. This game is not worth more than 6 dollars - which is the price of app version. The app version has everything the PC version does.. The graphics though simple are neat. At this point I have spent most of my time in game playing in multiplayer. Multiplayer is easy to set up through steam though you will have to deal with the occasional lag issue. Finding recipes is teadious as is finding metal, all in all a good game if you are the type of person who enjoys resource gathering over time. If not this might not be the game for you.
