A thoughtful RPG set in a bleak landscape. The storyline, characters and soundtrack are all exceedingly atmospheric.. What a great game honestly. Lisa is an RPG that is heavily inspired by the Mother series, but takes a much more somber turn and becomes its own original thing. As such, the combat system is somewhat similar to the one of the Mother series for comparison, but also features a few more differences, even though it is nothing too impressive. The soundtrack is also reminiscent of Mother, being weird and wacky when fighting weak enemies, foreboding when you are fighting tougher enemies, and overall very fitting for the more serious moments. But the biggest appeal of this game lies within the story and the characters. They are very complex and well developed. The game also gives you some lore every now and then, in the form of cutscenes that are flashbacks from the protagonist's past. The best thing you can do with this game is to not read anything about it and buy it if you enjoy story-driven turn-based RPGs of this kind and... are not feeling clinically depressed. The game does have its funny moments (sometimes they are random, other times they are bitter-sweet), but it is quite saddening. It is a shame it has not been officially translated into other languages, however, I believe there are fan translations out there so it's not too bad.Not a perfect game by any means (the sprite work is at first glance very ugly and can turn people away, even though you will later appreciate how its ugliness sets the mood better), but you will miss out if you don't play this hidden gem, it is truly an experience to be had.. if you want the mental equivalent of getting your knee caps smashed and sliced and then rubbed with fruit juiceBuy this game and play it for an extended period. I've got the depression, depression, depression, d o w n i n m y h e a r t. The game is great, it rarely crashes and seeing that my computer crashes games 24/7 I have to be really grateful for that. Besides that the game is fun to play, the combat system reminds me of earthbound which is a game I really enjoyed playing and the risk factors like campfires and etc. make sure you don't abuse the system and fits well with the apocalyptic theme of the game. Overall I recommend this game to anyone who enjoys earthbound like games or wants to try out a rpg with some great story.. A game that kicked me in the gut.9/10 would lose my baby boy Jack to a joy mutant and suffer sever emotional trauma as the replacement gets left behind.. Too slow and kinda boring to be honest. Such a mad, crazy game that I loved to play, having played in a good while and even thinking of going through again in attempt to try and fully get all the achievements.also Brad is best. ♥♥♥♥ you old man.
