About This Game A coffin-rocking, body-hopping, musical adventure game, set in a horrific hamlet of monsters.Set in a peaceful, blood-curdling village blessed with gorgeous panoramic mountaintop views and the blissful stench of rotting corpses, Wailing Heights is home to the likes of vegan werewolves, hipster vampires, soulful zombies and all manner of well-adjusted supernatural taxpaying home-owners.StoryMeet Frances Finklestein, the one-time manager of the all-time greatest rock band that Great Britain ever produced: The Deadbeats. After being invited to a gig in a town no one's ever heard of, Frances Finklestein is trapped in a holding cell, charged with the crime of... Being Alive! A mysterious cellmate teaches you the power of possession. You learn to “body-hop”, leaving your corpse in the holding cell and jumping from ghost to vampire to werewolf to zombie. Each creature’s skills and abilities bring you one step closer to getting your body out of lock-up and getting the hell out of Wailing Heights. But of course, it’s never that easy…As you jump from one musical monster to another, familiar sounds and faces start up show up. The Deadbeats have returned as the undead, and they want to get the band back together.GameplayIn the style of classic adventure games, you will need to talk to the locals, choosing just the right thing to say (and who to be), collect lyrics as you explore the town, listen to musical clues, and like all great songwriters; steal things from other songs. Add these ingredients to your musical possession wheel, and sing your soul right into a monsters' body, gaining their supernatural abilities and moving one step closer to escaping Wailing Heights.FeaturesA laugh-out-loud script from Kevin Beimers, who brought you tthe critically-defamed Hector: Badge of Carnage (Published by Telltale Games) and Schrödinger’s Cat and the Raiders of the Lost Quark (Published by Team17)Gorgeous comic-book styled visuals and cut-scenes, brought to you by awesome artists such as John Mc Farlane (The Revenants), Glenn Fabry (Preacher), John McCrea (Hitman), PJ Holden (Judge Dredd) and more... Some game design aspects are very quartionable. For instance, your "soul" can switch between several characters in game. But to do so, you have to travel to the location of that charater, which takes time. It's absolutely not neccesary and becomes tiring when you have to switch between 4 characters.Music is great, art is great and for that I can forgive ♥♥♥♥♥♥ programmers job and even more ♥♥♥♥♥♥ sound engineer job.. Wailing Heights is an unsual and attractive looking game with very original content. There were some good music references and fun with the names of characters. I liked the overall look of the game, and the concept was interesting. Where I felt the gameplay was let down a little was the repetativeness of certain elements. There appeared to be two Acts to the game and I liked the idea of splitting these, as Act 2 felt like a new part to the game. But I felt there should have been a final Act 3, maybe with a little more to do with finding 'the body.' Which seemed to become a little redundant towards the end of the game. The music was very original, and fair play to the writers and voice actors used. But the same music playing over and over did get quite tedious after a while. Especially when I found myself waking up in the morning and the 'Betty the Banshee' one line on repeat in my head. I maybe should have looked to see whether there was an option to turn off the music within the game. Also I found the length in which it took to switch characters during the game started to annoy me a little. Especially when you had to listen to the whole of the song each time. Lola's loves and hates are now etched into my brain.Unfortunately this wasn't a game I really loved. It had its moments and some fun elements, but I found the gameplay repatative, especially towards the end and the final part of it quite a let down. I would still recommend this for the price and it's original content. Just I honestly have to say for me I would have liked a little more variety and some more streamlined elements.. Different graphic style.Catchy music.Good puzzles.Engaging world.. I would like to give this a good review because the concept is nifty, the characters are groovy, and the style is quirky and neat. Unfortunately, it is buggy as all get out. I frequently found myself "stumped" on puzzles, only to go for a hint and find that the key interacting piece was the first thing I'd tried...but a bug was keeping the book from being picked up or the switch from being thrown. So, reboot, replay, repeat. I did play all the way through to the end, but had to restart about 5 times and it really wasn't worth it. Unless you can get confirmation that the bugs have been fixed, wait on this one.. Charming little game. The gameplay is quite a bit boring and tedious after a while, but the whole thing is saved by a very nice and original art direction. So glad to have found a game reminiscent of the style in Hector : Badge of Carnage. We definitely need more quircky stuff like this !. Unfortunately the devs are unaware that pop-filters exist.. Gorgeous looking puzzle game with a terrific body-swap concept that means just having the right item isn't enough - sometimes you have to be the right person, too. The only downside is that it's very short - I breezed through it in under four hours, and few of the puzzles are actually challenging; the clues are all there.. A clever and witty point and click musical adventure, in a modern monster world, where hipster vampires, birocratic ghosts, PC-frat werewolves and misunderstood soulful undead reign...and you get to be one of them!. Games music is pretty cool nice tunes the art work and chars are very colourful and seems a nice storie i dont think theresanythign bad with game at all even if i played for a little bit i think its quite a nice and colourful little game. Wailing Heights... Some quick personal thoughts:I managed to complete it on my first run, without actually cheating much (i did check for a quick guide one time tho) due to getting myself stuck because i was trying to do just a few too many things at once really. It's not for everyone because of the setting and pace this game has, however to me personally it was something new and that's why i bought, played and enjoyed it until completion. The game has a nice artsy cartoony look to it and the story is nicely written with lot's of animations, spoken texts, comical humour and plenty of nice tunes to boot.Never have i personally encountered any game breaking bugs, crashes or corrupted save files or anything. At some rare occasions i did however notice some glitches here and there but nothing that broke down the game.Overall i am happy to have bought and played the game for over 10 hours (i got more than my moneys worth for it) so i will gladly reccomend this to everyone who has a real open mind for such slow paced narrative driven point on click games. My personal score 7\/10 New Track!
